Bryce canyon at sunrise

Bryce Canyon National Park is truly a geological phenomenon. Carved from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in southern Utah this horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters borders on the supernatural. Filled with slot canyons, windows, fins and spires called "hoodoos" to quote Ebenezer Bryce, "It's a hell of place to lose a cow". As usual, my wife and assistant, Tina and I set out before dawn to capture the golden light. As the sun was rising and casting its light over the canyon a profile of face appeared as if it was guarding the canyon. We then descended to explore the rest of the canyon.
